Product Description

HAMMERITE DIRECT TO GALV is a single pack, air drying decorative coating for application to Galvanised Steel and other non-ferrous metals without the need for a primer. The product uses an alkyd designed for general purpose high quality air-drying and force drying industrial finishes and exhibits properties of fast surface dry, excellent through dry in thick films, early recoatability and minimum yellowing. Hammerite Direct to Galv can be applied by brush, roller and spray.The specially selected resin imparts a gloss finish which resists dirt pick up. HAMMERITE DIRECT TO GALV is designed to give excellent one coat coverage.

Tips & Advice

  • 1. Preparing the Surfaces
    On aged, dull galvanised surfaces spot prime any corroded or oxidised areas where the galvanise has broken
    down with Hammerite No1 Rustbeater.
    On new, bright, galvanised surfaces, leave to weather for a number of months until duller and coarser before
    application of Hammerite Direct to Galvanised Metal Paint.
    Where the surface has been previously painted, it is recommended that a small test area is applied. Leave for
    1 hour. If there is a reaction remove all paint before applying Hammerite Direct to Galvanised Metal Paint.
  • 2. Storing
    Store between 5°C to 40°C.
