Vivechrom’s STRONG GRIP PRIMER is a strong adhesion, water-based quartz primer, suitable for priming smooth and low or non-absorbent surfaces, such as exposed concrete, painted smooth surfaces, tiles, marbles, mosaic, metal, glass, plasterboard, gypsumboard, thermal insulation boards. It creates a rough surface and guarantees a strong adhesion for the coating that follows, such as cement mortars or tile adhesives.
It is also recommended as primer for Vivechrom’s fiber-reinforced cement-based mortar VIVEFLEX 200W, and improves the coverage and appearance of VIVECRYL TOP ACRYLIC and VIVECRYL TOP SILICONE thermal insulation plasters. It is part of Vivechrom’s external thermal insulation system THERMOPROTECT.
Stir the product well before application with an electric stirrer at low speed until it becomes homogeneous. For slightly absorbent surfaces, you can dilute STRONG GRIP PRIMER up to 10% with clean water. Apply an even layer using a
brush or roller in such a way as to maintain its "rough" texture. The surface is ready for coating with cement mortar or thermal
insulation plaster after approximately 2 hours, depending on the temperature and humidity conditions of the environment.
Apply at temperatures between +5°C and +35°C, and relative humidity up to 80%. Do not apply in case of impending rain or in direct sunlight and wind.

  • 1. Preparing the Surfaces
    Surfaces must be flat and solid, clean and dry, free of loose materials, dust and oil.
